Bi-oriented polystyrene (BOPS) sheets and films find a broad variety of applications in the market for thermoformed containers, bowls, cups, tubs and trays, primarily in what is known as the "convenience area," for single-use applications such as salads, baked goods, sandwiches and cakes, as well as produce such as tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables. Thanks to their high transparency, low specific weight, easy processability and full recyclability, coupled with the high mechanical resilience attained through stretching, the number of applications for BOPS films and sheets continues to grow. BOPS presents no health hazard and is thus safe for use in the food industry. Decorative insets and trays for presentation can be added through colouring and metallization. Thin films are ideal for use in creating decorative printed labels. Our plant is one of the most modern in Europe and has every technological capability available for the manufacture of BOPS films and sheets. This enables us to supply our customers with tailored solutions of reproducible quality.

Our quality-assurance laboratory ensures that only those sheets and films leave our plant which meet our customers' specifications. We operate in accordance with the guidelines of HACCP and BRC. Formal certification in accordance with these guidelines, as well as ISO standards, is planned for 2008.
